Holden VK Commodore

Event organiser, Jeff Denmeade, rode with a team possibly from the New South Wales south coast region in a white Holden VK "Brock" Commodore.
They were stopped two times by police. The first was by a police aircraft who caught them speeding. At the second stop the car was searched and police found details of the Perth hotel where the race was due to finish.
Jeff recalls that the cars drew a bit of attention in Western Australia and a few hundred kilometres out of Perth they saw lots of police and decided to slow down and hide any evidence that they were in the race, like CB radios and radar detectors.
Later at the finish location, a hotel in Perth, they were told that police kept coming in to check if they had arrived and were watching the hotel.
